Start the new year right by setting yourself - and your space - up for success!
Part of the Being Prepared practice is knowing what you have, making it easier on yourself to use what you have and removing temptations that you can't resist.
Lots of people are "resetting" after the holidays or just getting started. Being Prepared is so key to this journey - and can make the difference between getting off on the right foot and deciding it is just too hard.
------------
💥 ORGANIZE YOUR FRIDGE
Do a fridge deep clean - if you aren't going to eat it before it spoils (be realistic), you have condiments you haven't used in months, there is "buried treasure" in your freezer or you have things you just don't want at eye level tempting you - give it to friends or throw it out! BE AGGRESSIVE!

------------
💥 ORGANIZE YOUR PANTRY
Same deal - go through it all from spices to cans of veggies you've had sitting there for a year - you know you probably have a can of condensed milk from 2010 in there somewhere...

Get organizing trays from the Dollar Store...super cheap but very effective. Not sure if something is worth keeping - Point it! Are you willing to pay the points to cook with it - keep it - otherwise out it goes! Donate to your local food pantry or neighborhood seniors program.
Write the points on the box / can as you go if you like and then you don't have to think about it when you use it. Or get stickers and assign a point value - 1pt green, 2pt blue, 3pt yellow etc and just sticker them.
-----------
💥 ORGANIZE YOUR SNACKS
Snacks are many peoples downfall so grab some snack bags and break those bigger bags of chips, crackers, cookies, Goldfish, candy - whatever - break them down into the serving size you are going to use and write the points on the bag if you like. It is much easier to control precounted and weighed snacks then suddenly find your hand at the bottom of the bag.

Even just storing open bags of treats inside either large sealed bags or containers and putting them out of eyes level can make a huge difference. It is easy to grab a few bites here and there from an open container but if you have to work to get to it and then work to get into it - it stops the Mindless Eating and makes it a conscious decision.
-----------
💥 ORGANIZE YOUR SPACE
You may not need to do a major overhaul but really look at your cooking and prep space.

MOVE HEALTHY OPTIONS TO THE FOREFRONT
Have healthy options available in the front of your fridge, pantry and on your counter. Keep the treats out of eye level and in sealed containers to limit your "drive by" snacking.
DECIDE WHAT'S USEFUL
What kitchen gadgets have you bought and don't use? Either make a plan to use it or store, sell or donate them.
MAKE PREP EASIER
What gadgets would make your life easier and your meal prep more successful? Do you need a new knife, peeler, food scale, set of measuring cups? While you're at the Dollar Store for organizing bins - grab your gadgets!
WORKSPACE
Do you have counter and table top space to meal prep? Easy access to storage containers and cutting boards? If not - fix it! Rearrange, reorganize and refresh as needed.
SERVING SIZES
Do you need to look at your dishes? Filling a smaller salad or bread plate vs eating from a larger dinner plate which looks less full can make a huge difference.
Perception is an important aspect of mindful eating and it is easier to convince the mind we are satisfied when it looks like we have a full plate.

MEAL PLAN
Sit down and do a 7-day meal plan and shopping list. Since you are cleaning out things, you'll know what you have and what you need to top up to make meals for the week. It doesn't have to be complicated and you can use these to give you some good ideas.

You can of course adjust any of these recipe ideas to your own tastes, medical needs and plan... Just because it's pointed for Flex doesn't mean you can't use it on Classic - just run the nutritional data through the calculator or put it through Recipe Builder with your own adjustments.
