π₯£ CROCKPOT Chicken n Dumplings
π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯ 5 Spoons Up!
This turned out very nice - easy and exactly what I wanted!
(As always, swap, substitute, omit or adapt to your own tastes. The nutritional values below are for the specific ingredients and brands below and may not be the same if different items are used)
πΉ8oz Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast
πΉ1x can Swanson R/S Chkn Stock
πΉ2x cups 2% Milk
πΉ1x pkg Caputo Potato Gnocchi ($1 Store)
πΉ1/2cup Kroger 0% Plain Greek Yogurt
πΉ1x cup Shredded Carrots
πΉ 3/4 can Sweet Peas (just what I had left - you could obviously use the whole can for a slightly different value)
πΉDried Parsley Flakes (optional)
πΉDried Summer Savory (optional)
πΉSalt & Pepper to taste
Since dairy tends to split or even curdle when added to hot crockpot contents - the easiest thing to do is add it all in the beginning.
Whisk together stock, milk, yogurt and spices. Add chicken breasts (thawed, whole) and carrots. Cook on low for 4hrs or high for 2hrs.
Remove chicken and dice or shred. Return to crockpot and add peas and gnocchi. Cook additional 2hrs on low or 1hr on high.
This is one of those dishes that is good the day it is cooked but it is even better the next day!
